6.19.6 Purging/removing a release
In some cases a release may become corrupt over time. This may make it complicated for a record company or distributor to ask for such a release to be removed (or "purged") from a DSP's database.
In order for a release to be removed, the record company or distributor shall send a PurgeReleaseMessage
and the DSP shall act by ceasing to make that release available if it can ascertain that the record company or distributor has the rights to ask for a release to be purged. This may be done by checking that the DSP has received the active deal(s) from the same record company or distributor.
The same approach may also be used when a record company or distributor wants to permanently remove a release from the catalogue of a DSP.
