6.17 Previews and standalone clips
6.17.1 Previews
Previews are communicated using the ClipDetail
composite with the ClipType
set to Preview
.
Previews may be made available to consumers as defined in the ReleaseVisibility
or TrackReleaseVisibility
composites referenced from the relevant release or Track Release.
6.17.2 Standalone clips
Standalone clips may be made available in two ways:
If the metadata for the standalone clip is identical to the metadata for the “main” resource the clip has been taken from, it is communicated using the
ClipDetail
composite with theClipType
set toStandaloneClip
. The record company or distributor may then communicate aDeal
to provide terms and conditions under which the DSP may make available the clip to consumers. ThisDeal
shall point to the clip’sTechnicalResourceDetailsReference
.If the metadata for the clip is not identical to the metadata for the “main” resource the clip has been taken from (if, for example, the title of the clip is augmented by a subtitle marking it as a clip), the clip shall be communicated in its own
SoundRecording
orVideo
composite and referenced from aRelease
composite of typeClipRelease
. Any terms and conditions for such a Clip Release can be communicated as described in Clause 6.2.The
SoundRecording
orVideo
composite containing the clip and theSoundRecording
orVideo
composite containing the “main” recording shall be marked as being related to one another usingRelatedResource
composites with a type ofHasClip
andIsClipFrom
, respectively. This approach also necessitates giving the clip aResourceId
that differs from theResourceId
for the “main” recording.
